Location: 590 Alder Drive, Milpitas, CA
Years of R&D and prototyping have led to the successful commercial release of our G1 products built with custom in-house designed ASICs and RFICs. With many product variants coming up this coming year, we are expanding and enhancing our lab capabilities.
As part of the System Performance Engineering group, you will work with other engineers to expand and maintain our test infrastructure in the lab. You will support the building, expanding, qualifying, trouble-shooting and testing of a large-scale test infrastructure project that is highly visible and has a significant positive impact to our SW release qualification process.
Responsibilities
● Develop new and use existing Linux and Python scripts to monitor and test lab devices.
● Independently diagnose / trouble-shoot / resolve problems in the lab setup such as issues with cabling, networking, traffic generation, radio configuration, faulty equipment, power and thermal.
● Develop automation diagnostic tools that detect and classify the failure modes described above, and where applicable, have the diagnostic tools fix the issues automatically
● Maintain and document fixture architecture, configurations, lab builds, cabling connection diagrams, fixture calibration using MS/Google office tools.
● Support with developing Python test automation scripts for expanding the SW/HW capabilities of the infrastructure, such as adding traffic tools, integrating new test equipment, adding automation performance tests for new software capabilities, etc.
● Provide onsite support for employees in other buildings on campus and those who do not have access.
● Assist with constructing/expanding new lab test platforms including cabling of racks/fixtures, connecting, configuring equipment and performing the necessary fixture calibrations.
● Maintain inventory and monitor lab supplies and generate POs and place orders as necessary.
● Maintain large-scale lab infrastructure in a good working condition with high availability, high capacity and good reliability. Develop automation tools to continuously reflect and track these metrics.
● Work both in a team and independently, understand and assist teammates’ needs/requirements related to the lab/test infrastructure, execution etc.
● Multi-task between a variety of tasks from using SW tools, building mechanical fixtures, debugging network/switch issues, lab health checks on a day to day basis
● Proactively track and complete lab related tasks by seeking help in a timely manner with a strong sense of urgency.
