Position: Controls Hardware Engineer
Location: Wixom, MI
Shifts: On-site M-F, 8am-5pm
Duration: Perm
Salary: $85k - $110k (quarterly bonus structure)
Must Haves:
- Demonstrated background in controls hardware design using AutoCAD Electrical
- Possess the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
- Understanding of controls automation features
- 3+ years of experience designing control systems or machinery
Plusses:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering discipline
- Experience designing control panels for conveyor systems
- Background in design role at an integrator company
Day to Day: Insight Global is hiring a Controls Hardware Engineer for a company in Wixom, MI. This Design Engineer will be responsible for concepts, planning, and implementation of project-related system controls hardware. They will develop controls-related drawings in AutoCAD Electrical for customer approval, installation, and for maintenance manuals. They will also be trusted to improve the accuracy, quality, and consistency of controls hardware design drawings on projects. This person will be joining the organization with the intent to transfer knowledge and expertise on AutoCAD Electrical to team.
Other roles and responsibilities include:
- Keep accurate records of the budget and open issues for their assigned tasks and provide this information to the Project Manager on a timely basis
- Maintain the project schedule for their assigned responsibilities
- Help estimate / obtain the controls hardware-related cost and schedule for estimates and for contract changes including materials, engineering, and installation costs
- Help the Project Manager prepare accurate project Change Orders
- Travel as necessary for the purpose of project: meetings; implementation; coordination; and commissioning – estimated to be 10%
- Assist the software engineer with commissioning and acceptance test plans to help secure final project acceptance from the customer
- Provide information needed to develop the controls equipment spare parts list & maintenance manuals
