Job Summary: The Industrial Piping Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and successful completion of piping projects within industrial facilities. This role requires extensive knowledge of piping systems, materials, and installation processes, as well as strong project management skills to coordinate multiple teams and stakeholders. The Project Manager will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to the highest safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning & Execution:
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to review and approve piping system designs and specifications.
- Oversee the installation of piping systems, ensuring compliance with project plans, industry standards, and safety regulations.
- Manage procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and quality compliance.
- Client & Stakeholder Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing any concerns and providing regular updates on project progress.
- Collaborate with clients to define project requirements and ensure alignment with their expectations.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Budget & Cost Management:
- Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring financial targets are met and costs are controlled.
- Monitor project expenses and implement cost-saving measures where possible.
- Review and approve change orders, purchase orders, and invoices.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor project teams, including engineers, foremen, and field staff.
- Conduct regular team meetings to review progress, address challenges, and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Provide training and guidance to team members on piping systems, project management best practices, and safety protocols.
- Quality Assurance & Safety:
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure piping systems are installed to the highest standards.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies, conducting regular site inspections and safety audits.
- Resolve any technical issues that arise during the project, providing solutions that maintain project quality and integrity.
- Project Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, schedules, and financial reports.
- Provide regular project status reports to senior management and clients, highlighting any risks or issues that may impact project outcomes.
- Ensure all project documentation is archived and accessible for future reference.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in industrial piping project management or a related field.
- Proven track record of successfully managing piping projects in industrial settings, such as refineries, chemical plants, or power plants.
- Experience working with various piping materials (e.g., steel, PVC, HDPE) and understanding of industry standards (e.g., ASME, API).
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) or piping systems are advantageous.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of industrial piping systems, including design, installation, and maintenance.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage client relationships and project teams.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and CAD software.
- Certifications:
- OSHA 30 certification is required. Additional certifications related to piping systems or project management are preferred.
