We are currently seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist with expertise in Sensory Integration to join their dynamic team. This position is permanent, full-time.
Position Overview:
The Occupational Therapist - Sensory Integration Specialist will provide specialized therapeutic services to adults with sensory processing challenges. This role requires a compassionate and skilled professional who can assess, plan, and implement individualized treatment plans. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with families, caregivers, and a multidisciplinary team to support clients in achieving their goals.
Key Responsibilities
Assessment and Evaluation:
Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify sensory integration and processing issues.
Use standardized tests and clinical observations to evaluate clients' sensory and motor skills.
Develop detailed assessment reports and individualized treatment plans.
Treatment Planning and Implementation:
Design and implement evidence-based sensory integration therapy programs tailored to each client's needs.
Utilize various therapeutic techniques and tools to improve sensory processing, motor skills, and functional abilities.
Monitor and document clients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
Collaboration and Consultation:
Work closely with families and caregivers to provide education and support on sensory integration strategies.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, speech therapists, and psychologists, to ensure holistic care.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss client progress and treatment strategies.
Education and Advocacy:
Provide training and workshops for parents, teachers, and community members on sensory integration and its impact on daily life.
Advocate for clients' needs within the community and educational settings.
Stay updated on current research and best practices in sensory integration therapy.
Documentation and Compliance:
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and clinic standards.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) in the state of California.
Certification in Sensory Integration (SIPT), preferred.
2+ years of experience in occupational therapy, with a focus on sensory integration.
Strong clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of sensory processing disorders.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
