We are seeking a licensed and experienced Dental Hygienist to join our dental team in Harrisburg, PA. In this full-time role, you will provide essential oral health care to our patients under the supervision of our dentists and doctors. Your responsibilities will include cleaning teeth, examining oral areas, educating patients about proper oral care, and supporting other dental professionals in delivering comprehensive dental services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct oral inspections of patients' teeth and gums to detect signs of oral disease.
- Remove calculus, plaque, and stains from teeth, and apply sealants, fluoride, and other preventative treatments as necessary.
- Educate patients on effective dental hygiene techniques to help them maintain optimal oral health.
- Take and develop dental x-rays to identify potential issues.
- Review patients' medical histories and dental records to assist in determining appropriate treatment plans.
- Collaborate with dentists on more complex procedures, providing necessary assistance during treatments.
- Accurately maintain records of dental and oral health treatments and procedures.
- Adhere strictly to all safety and sanitation protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Requirements:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene.
- Active license to practice dental hygiene in Pennsylvania.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Dental Hygienist.
- Excellent oral communication skills and the ability to educate patients effectively.
- Ability to stand for extended periods while providing patient care.
- Strong attention to detail and knowledge of dental terminology and tools.
- Proficiency with dental software.
- CPR certification is a plus.
