About the opportunity
They are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Estimator to join their team in Greenville, SC. In this role, you will oversee the estimation process for construction projects from inception to completion. You will collaborate closely with various departments, including project management, procurement, and finance, to ensure accurate and competitive bids that align with our strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead the estimating team, providing guidance and support throughout the estimation process.
- Review project plans, requirements, and specifications to develop comprehensive and accurate cost estimates.
- Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects.
- Utilize software and tools to prepare detailed and competitive bids for prospective projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimates.
- Negotiate pricing with vendors and subcontractors to achieve cost-effective solutions.
- Evaluate and recommend cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
- Monitor industry trends and market conditions to adjust estimates accordingly.
- Present estimates and bids to senior management and participate in bid reviews.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- A minimum of eight (8) years of construction estimating or preconstruction with a General Contractor.
- A minimum of three (3) years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Procore, PlanSwift) and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to effectively manage a team.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Certification from a recognized estimating organization (e.g., AACE, ASPE) is a plus.
- Experience with Design-Bid-Build (DBB), Design-Build (DB), and Construction Management at Risk (CMAR) project delivery methods.
