Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Systems Project Engineer
Summary Design and implement comprehensive I&C systems for multiple projects using electrical, mechanical, chemical, and computer engineering principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Selects field instrumentation based on scope, contract documents, standardized products, and budget.
- Determines installation requirements and prepares submittals for review and approval.
- Responds to submittal comments.
- Designs control and network panels based on project scope, contract documents, standardized products, and budget.
- Develops hardwired IO lists and bill of materials.
- Coordinates drafting efforts and prepares submittals for review and approval.
- Performs basic panel checkouts.
- Designs loop drawings per contract requirements.
- Manages drafting efforts and prepares submittals for review and approval.
- Camera & Security Subsystems
- Selects and designs camera and security system hardware and software based on scope, contract documents, standardized products, and budget.
- Prepares submittals for review and approval.
- Designs SCADA/PLC control systems networks following best practices and project requirements.
- Selects cabling and network hardware, develops network diagrams, and integrates third-party systems.
- Prepares network submittals for review and approval.
- Documentation and Testing
- Assists with Control Narrative Submittals and generates test procedures.
- Supervises creation of “As-installed for Record” documentation and develops Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Manuals.
- Conducts site visits, develops relationships with vendors, and supports project teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Computer Engineering preferred.
- Experience in field instrumentation, control panel, and networking design.
- Proficient in technical writing, verbal communication, Microsoft Office, and AutoCAD.
- Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Effective oral communication and use of office equipment.
- Predominantly office-based with occasional site visits.
- Estimated 20% travel.
