Are you a Senior Thermal Analyst with Aerospace/ Automotive manufacturing and HV systems experience?
Can you effectively support new products through the full lifecycle, from design through to manufacturing?
Our exclusive client, an innovative aerospace manufacturing organization, are seeking a Senior Thermal Analyst to join their Energy Storage and Power Systems (ESPS) team. In this role, you will be a key member of the Thermal Systems group, responsible for thermal design, analysis, and testing for the battery thermal management system of next-generation eVTOL aircrafts.
Responsibilities of the Senior Thermal Analyst:
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to design and optimize electromechanical assemblies for high-voltage components.
- Conduct thermal design and analysis for battery systems powering our eVTOL aircraft, ranging from hand calculations and 1D models to 3D multiphysics CFD simulations.
- Post-process and report analysis results to support design decisions, optimizing thermal management systems for performance and weight.
- Develop automated simulation toolchains that integrate with aircraft flight physics simulators, powertrain models, and cell electrochemical models to predict battery thermal behaviour across various flight scenarios.
- Support the development of system and subsystem-level thermal requirements, ensuring proper flow-down to components and parts.
- Support prototype builds and technology maturation testing to ensure thermal systems meet functional requirements.
- Provide analytical support throughout the product lifecycle, from preliminary design through development, validation, certification, and manufacturing.
- Familiarity with aircraft certification and aerospace development best practices and standards, including DO-160 and DO-311.
