Position Summary:
The Senior Buyer will be responsible for highly technical project purchasing support for large Engineering, Procurement, and Construction projects. They will be interfacing heavily with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers to negotiate and purchase heavy industrial equipment. Our client is a global leader and is looking to bring someone on board that can develop within this function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare Requests for Quotation (RFQ) or Proposal (RFP) documents in accordance with the specifications and/or scopes of work, including all technical, commercial, and quality requirements
- Collaborate effectively with Project Managers, Coordinators, Expeditors, and Engineers locally and international to optimize purchasing and mitigate internal and external purchasing issues.
- Understand market pricing and undertake negotiation towards the goal of increasing efficiency with cost-savings, logistics, delivery, payment terms
- Assist with sourcing to support project related purchasing and supply needs.
- Problem solve and mitigate/escalate any delays internally and externally to avoid delay on delivery timelines
- Effectively document and manage purchase orders delivery.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in Negotiation and Purchasing focused responsibilities.
- Need previous experience purchasing Large and Heavy equipment to support plant and facility construction and expansion
- Previous ERP system experience, preferably SAP
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience or exposure to turbomachinery or related energy equipment manufacturing industries
- Experience working in multicultural environments
- Ability to work efficiently and independently with minimal oversight
- Strong planning and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
