Role Purpose: As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining APIs, services, and systems. You will deeply learn our business to successfully take ownership of features from idea to production. Your primary focus will be backend work (80%) with some frontend tasks (20%). You will work closely with stakeholders to understand problems, automate solutions, and report on the status of ongoing projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems.
- Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack.
- Write high-quality, secure, maintainable, scalable, testable, and efficient code following best practices.
- Participate in business context meetings to review and address accumulated issues and problems from the previous week.
- Engage in follow-up meetings with stakeholders to learn more about problems and automate solutions.
- Attend daily stand-up meetings to report on the status of ongoing projects.
- Participate in important end-of-week meetings to identify and prioritize tasks for increased future velocity.
- Spend your time solving problems and driving impactful results.
Must Haves:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development.
- Proficiency in programming with Go.
- Experience with PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker, deployed on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience with one of the following frontend frameworks: Angular, Vue, or React.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to explain the value and impact of your work.
- Desire to understand the business context of the solutions you are building.
- Ability to hold yourself and others to a high standard when working with production systems.
- Background in strong companies or universities, particularly those with a focus on impact and innovation (e.g., FANG companies, startups where you made a significant impact).
Nice to Haves:
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and GRPC.
- Previous experience in a startup environment or a company known for its innovative culture.
