Job Description:
A client of Insight Global is looking for someone to come into an environment that is a reverse logistics hub for decommissioned data center equipment. They process parts that are retired as well as those removed during repair. During the intake process, parts are inspected and evaluated and then sent to our on-site laboratory, where they are function tested, and may undergo basic repairs. Then, depending on the test results, parts are sent to the highest value recovery path. This could include re-use as a spare part, integration into new equipment, or if there’s no internal demand, we may liquidate or recycle them. It is a transactional role, but with a focus on quality over quantity.
Day to Day:
- Diagnosing hardware and network problems followed by physical repairs
- Recording test results in WMS (Warehouse Management Systems)
- Performing root cause analysis of equipment failures
- Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required (weight limits in accordance with regulations)
