Position Overview:
The Project Manager will assume a pivotal role in overseeing all facets of construction projects, from the formulation of initial budgets through to final project closeout. This role demands a strategic leader who can ensure the successful execution and financial performance of projects. The Project Manager will collaborate closely with both management and field supervision to establish operational priorities and maintain the highest standards of project quality. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional skill in cultivating robust relationships with internal and external stakeholders, thereby ensuring exemplary project execution and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Budget Management: Develop and refine comprehensive project budgets through meticulous estimation and value engineering.
- Client Relations: Enhance client satisfaction by proactively identifying and surpassing their needs.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and guide Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Superintendents to elevate team performance and cohesion.
- Project Planning: Craft and implement detailed project plans and schedules, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Job Oversight: Supervise ongoing projects, coordinating subcontractors, resolving conflicts, and maintaining rigorous documentation while upholding quality and safety standards.
- Cost Control: Continuously monitor and analyze project costs, including labor, materials, and equipment, to forecast financial outcomes and manage budgetary constraints.
- Project Closeout: Execute thorough and efficient project closeout procedures to ensure comprehensive completion.
- Leadership: Foster a positive work environment by motivating team members, providing clear direction, and promoting collaborative teamwork.
- Communication: Facilitate effective communication across all stakeholder groups, utilizing both written and verbal methods.
- Business Development: Engage with current and prospective clients to identify and pursue new business opportunities, participate in client presentations, and negotiate contracts.
- Subcontractor Management: Oversee the subcontractor bid process, negotiate and award subcontracts, and ensure adherence to contractual terms and conditions.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience as a Construction Project Manager, or 5+ years in a construction management capacity.
- Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in estimating, scheduling, budgeting/cost control, field supervision, safety management, and financial reporting.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of construction industry practices, processes, and standards, coupled with knowledge in design and finance.
- Skills: Strong relationship-building abilities, meticulous attention to detail, self-motivation, and advanced proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Procore, Bluebeam, Building Connected, Primavera, AutoCAD).
