We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Health and Safety Manager to join our team in Virginia, US. As an Environmental Health and Safety Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with both local and international regulations, this role involves the planning, implementation, and coordination of programs designed to mitigate or eradicate occupational injuries and illnesses within a specific operational region, area, or at the company level. The candidate will be supported by and will answer directly to the ASafe Global Management Team.
Your Role:
- Develop, implement, and maintain Health and Safety programs, procedures, and policies for compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend mitigation measures.
- Provide expert guidance and advice on Health and Safety to management and employees.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to foster a safe work environment and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Deliver training programs to enhance employee awareness of Health and Safety procedures and best practices.
- Conduct thorough incident and accident investigations, identify root causes, and develop corrective action plans.
- Monitor HSE performance metrics, prepare reports, and present findings to management.
- Ensure compliance with updated HSE regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct audits to identify non-compliance issues and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of Health and Safety activities, including incident reports and training records.
- Assist in developing and implementing emergency response plans and conducting drills.
- Participate in Health and Safety committees and engage with regulatory agencies as needed.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Professional Certification like CSP, OHST or CHST by the BCSP
- 3-5 years of Owners Representative experience
- 5-10 years of heavy construction including work with heavy cranes in tight quarters around electrical loads
- 3-5 years of Data Center construction and/or operations experience
- 4 years of formal education with a BS degree in EHS related field of study
- Based in Virginia with local travel required.
- In-depth knowledge of local, state, and federal Health and Safety regulations.
- Proven experience developing and implementing Health and Safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for training and stakeholder collaboration.
- Ability to conduct thorough incident investigations and data analysis.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for maintaining accurate records.
- Proficient in MS Office and data management systems.
