A well established major food manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead all aspects of engineering in eastern New Mexico! The Engineering Manager will direct engineers and maintenance leaders in optimizing productivity and improving processes while ensuring maintenance of all manufacturing and facility equipment and machinery.
Responsibilities:
• Manage engineers and maintenance leadership promoting professional growth and a positive work environment.
• Collaborate with senior management to prioritize capital improvement projects and oversee the design, planning, and execution of capital and expense projects.
• Resolve ongoing issues, implement new procedures, and introduce new equipment, processes, or product lines.
• Conduct replacement analysis of equipment, advise on space costs, depreciation, service life, and maintenance costs.
• Maintain effective communication to keep key stakeholders informed and able to respond appropriately.
• Ensure process, equipment, or product changes are communicated to and understood by affected employees.
• Oversee preventive maintenance programs for facility systems, production machinery, and equipment.
• Source and evaluate vendors, contractors, and suppliers to secure quality products and services at competitive prices
• Develop and utilize maintenance KPIs to drive improvements in plant reliability and support continuous improvement.
• Identify opportunities to implement new technologies and methodologies to enhance plant performance.
• Conduct or coordinate safety inspections, risk assessments, and safety training programs.
• Generate and present reports on plant performance, maintenance activities, and project updates.
• Prepare and manage the department budget, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation.
• Manage employee recruitment, scheduling, development, performance evaluation, and career growth, holding self and staff accountable for results.
Requirements:
• 5+ years of experience in engineering + 1 year in management in a food or pharma environment, must have dairy experience in background, (required)
• Capital project experience and managing budgets & knowledge of Continuous Improvement tools (required)
• BS in Engineering or similar field of study and/or relevant certifications in engineering and maintenance (preferred)
• PLC and Automation troubleshooting, implementation, and programming experience (preferred)
