Our government client is looking for experienced Technical Writer on a 12+ months renewable contract opportunity in Columbia, SC.

Note: Remote Work Availability 0% This position is for a Technical Writer to help with gathering and updating documents for system certifications.
About the role:
The agency is seeking a Technical Writer who will support development of system policies, standards, and procedures related to Federal, State, and Agency compliance requirements. Leads the analysis, design, and modification of plans, policies and procedures to best meet the business needs.
General Duties:
Provide support management in responding effectively to internal and external auditors and other state and federal agencies via documentation updates.
Attend and facilitate various meetings to get status updates, details, and information needed for document updates.
Review and maintain plans, policies, and procedures to best meet the business needs.
Assist management in getting the responses needed for compliance requirements.
Assists in creating and updating document for the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid (CMS).
Coordinates Medicaid Systems administrative policies and documentation for CMS submissions.
Works with Medicaid Systems leadership to create and/or update deliverables and artifacts for CMS certifications.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills -

- Strong background in technical writing
- Superb written and oral communications skills, including the ability to give presentations to executive management. Strong proficiency in English is required.
- Willingness and ability to effectively engage with people and organizations on a continuous basis.
- bachelor s degree and at least 2 years of technical writing experience.
Desired Skills and Experience:
2+ years of technical writing experience in positions requiring the development of structured written materials and visual aids.
Must possess advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) to include working with templates and style guidelines for branding consistency.
Ability to interact with internal and external vendors, project team members, management, and agency departments and to build relationships and use facilitation skills with both technical and non-technical personnel.
Experience with CMS certifications and MARS-E 2.2 requirements.
Experience working with SharePoint and other typical project management tools, including Visio, PowerPoint, MS Project, Word, Access and Excel.
Ability to create and document key project management documents and artifacts
Superb communications skills (written and oral).
Effective listener
Willingness and ability to effectively engage with people and organizations; ability to get people with competing, diverse interests to work together.
Experience in Medicaid or other healthcare claims system(s) IT projects preferred, but not mandatory.
Must be able to manage multiple high profile, high priority projects at one time.
