LHH is assisting a Carson area client in hiring an Estimator. The ideal candidate for this role is experienced in Commercial Construction, specifically core and early stages of fit-out.
Experience could include Metal Stud Framing, Drywall, Finishes - Rough Carpentry etc. This role is hands-on and would not be a fit for a candidate with primarily GC experience.
This role reports to the head of estimating and is responsible for:
- Preparing precise and comprehensive estimates for rough carpentry projects based on plans, specifications, and site visits.
- Analyzing blueprints, drawings, and related documentation to determine materials, labor, and equipment needs.
- Collaborating with subcontractors and suppliers to collect competitive bids and negotiate pricing.
- Use estimating software and tools to streamline the process and ensure accuracy.
This role will have some Project Management responsibilities:
- Overseeing multiple commercial rough carpentry projects simultaneously, ensuring they meet schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Developing and maintaining project schedules, and coordinating various activities.
- Conducting regular site visits and inspections to monitor progress, address issues, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.
- Communicating effectively with stakeholders, including clients, architects, engineers, and contractors, to provide updates and address concerns.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as an Estimator and/or Project Manager in commercial rough carpentry.
- Strong knowledge of rough carpentry methods, materials, and building codes.
Experience in Metal Stud Framing is a PLUS!
- Proficiency in construction estimating software and MS Office Suite.
