Job Description
A Senior Engineer/Scientist in our Investigation & Remediation practice group is responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships and ensuring project completion on time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction. You will contribute to the success of the organization by:
- Leveraging existing connections and building relationships with clients, vendors, and partners to foster a mutually beneficial business practice.
- Collaborating closely with other team members, understanding client needs, and developing tailored solutions.
- Developing and executing project scopes and preparing environmental reports that provide professional opinions and practical solutions.
- Tracking project performance, profitability, and schedule while ensuring the right resources are in place to complete the project.
- Leading the project team, keeping them focused, and driving projects to completion, even when challenges arise.
- Providing mentorship, training, and professional development opportunities to junior staff.
- Performing technical work and supporting project deliverables on various Investigation & Remediation projects, including:
- Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)
- Voluntary Cleanup Program (VCP) and Industrial & Hazardous Waste Corrective Action Projects under state-specific regulations
- Knowledge and application of environmental regulatory frameworks
- Leaking Petroleum Storage Tank (LPST) assessments
- Non-Aqueous Phase Liquids (NAPL) management
- Spill Response & Reporting
- Ecological Risk Assessments
- Groundwater Modelling and Remediation
- Risk-Based Corrective Action (RBCA)
- Regulatory assessment and closure of associated releases
- Demonstrated expertise in regulatory closures of environmental liabilities in various states is a plus.
What We’d Love to See in You
- BS degree or higher in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Science, or a related field, with a minimum of 10-15 years of direct environmental consulting experience.
- High-level experience and knowledge of environmental investigation and remediation for industrial, energy, and commercial clients.
- Detail-oriented, motivated, analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills and a driven work ethic.
- Proven leadership abilities with experience mentoring junior staff.
- Strong desire to help build and grow a client base through diverse business development initiatives.
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
- Professional certification (PE, PG, or equivalent) preferred.
