Job Title: Senior Software Engineers – AI/Computer Vision: Computational Cytopathology
Summary:

In the role of Senior Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in crafting innovative software solutions that process images from Whole Slide Image Scanners. Collaborating with world-renowned experts, such as the past president of the American Society of Cytopathology and principal authors of international diagnostic standards, your skills will significantly contribute to the development of tools that improve diagnostic precision, expedite research, and enhance patient care outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Software Development: Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, efficient software using C/C++ and Python for image analysis and processing pipelines specific to cytopathology.
- AI Integration: Collaborate with cytologists, data scientists, and machine learning engineers to seamlessly integrate AI models and algorithms into the clinical cytology applications.
- Computer Vision: Apply advanced computer vision techniques for cell detection, segmentation, classification, and feature extraction from whole slide images, tailored for cytopathology use cases.
- Algorithm Optimization: Refine and optimize algorithms for accuracy, speed, and resource efficiency in a production environment, ensuring clinical-grade performance.
- Problem Solving: Tackle complex technical challenges related to cytopathology image analysis, data processing, image processing, and software architecture, working closely with domain experts.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including scientists, cytopathologists, regulatory experts, and other engineers, to understand specific cytopathology requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
- Software SDK/API Integration: Integrate with third-party software development kits and APIs for image analysis, machine learning, and data management.
- Medical Image Management: Implement robust solutions for handling, storing, and retrieving large medical image datasets, ensuring compliance with healthcare data standards and regulations.
Qualifications:
-Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
-Experience:
- 5+ years of hands-on software development experience in C/C++ and Python.
- Proven track record in building complex software systems with a focus on performance and scalability.
- Demonstrated interest or experience in machine learning or computer vision applications.
-Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented programming principles.
- Familiarity with image processing libraries (e.g., OpenCV) and frameworks relevant to cytopathology.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and software development best practices.
-Bonus Skills:
- Knowledge of digital cytopathology workflows or experience with cytological imaging.
- Understanding of deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) for medical imaging.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and data security in a healthcare setting.
- Cyber security, secure software design.
- Understanding of the quality management system, design control in the medical device industry.
- Experience with integrating the LIS (Lab information system), healthcare information system, and electronic medical records.
