The Quality Auditor is responsible for internal and external audit activities, the maintenance of supplier audit records for supplier approval on the Authorized Vendor List (AVL) and the Unipoint electronic database for Energy Steel personnel training. The Quality Auditor reports to the Director of Quality.
Job Description and Duties:
• Examination of objective evidence of quality.
• Scheduling, planning, execution, and reporting of internal quality audits, external quality audits, commercial grade surveys, and supplier source inspections as assigned by the Director of Quality.
• Performance of audit follow-up through closure for corrective action requests resulting from internal audits, external audits, source inspections, or commercial grade survey activities.
• Performance of follow-up through to closure for corrective action requests resulting from internal/external audits, source inspection/surveillance, or commercial grade survey activities.
• Performance and documentation of annual supplier performance assessments.
• Assist the Director of Quality in maintaining the Approved Vendor List.
• Participation in customer/regulatory/Code audit activities including assisting the auditors in fulfillment of their activities during audits of Energy Steel.
• Selection of Auditors as participants in an audit.
• Determination of whether or not technical specialists are needed for auditing activities.
• Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
• BS level education or 0-3 years’ experience in related area
• Qualified in accordance with Code, Regulatory and industry consensus standards and the minimum requirements of NQA-1 Requirement 2. Additional requirements of NQA-1 Appendix 2A-3 or ANSI N45.2.23, are acceptable alternatives, however the minimum requirements of the latest Code specified requirements shall be met as a Lead Auditor.
• Must show proficiency in Microsoft Office and possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated project management skills working with multiple subcontractors
• Technical knowledge, ability to read CAD drawings
