About the Role
As the Director of Quality and Mission Assurance, you will be part of a dynamic team, scaling rapidly to meet growth goals. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will establish an AS9100 certified quality management system while maintaining speed and flexibility in a high-tech environment.
Job Duties
- Quality Management: Develop, implement, and maintain a quality management system compliant with industry standards and best practices. Ensure quality assurance throughout the product lifecycle, including design, manufacturing, testing, and operations.
- Mission Assurance: Integrate mission assurance practices across project lifecycles. Oversee actions related to the Government-Industry Data Exchange Program (GIDEP).
- Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to drive efficiency, eliminate waste, and enhance quality. Analyze data to identify trends and optimization opportunities.
- Compliance and Standards: Establish and maintain AS9100 certification. Stay updated on regulatory changes and ensure all products and processes meet quality standards.
- Supplier Quality Management: Evaluate suppliers, establish quality standards for materials and components, and monitor supplier performance.
- Risk Management: Implement strategies to identify and mitigate quality risks. Develop contingency plans for quality-related issues.
- Leadership and Training: Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Provide training on quality processes, standards, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related science discipline.
- Proven experience in quality management within a highly regulated industry.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as AS9100 or ISO 9001.
- Familiarity with risk management and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and collaborative team environment.
- Must meet U.S. export regulations for space technology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in engineering or a related science discipline.
- Experience leading the implementation of industry standards such as AS9100.
- Professional certifications such as:
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
- Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE)
- Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Lean / Six Sigma
