This role is with a small, well-established and long-standing company that develops innovative laboratory instruments for scientific research. Job Duties:
- Work alongside electrical engineers, scientists, and suppliers to develop new concepts and maintain existing designs for scientific laboratory instruments.
- Apply basic mechanical engineering concepts and processes to the design of new and existing devices - both mechanical and electromechanical products.
- Develop and maintain all product lines.
- Work cross-functionally with different teams and organizations to bring products to market.
- Collaborate with colleagues, take suggestions into consideration, and make suggestions on how to improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related design engineering field.
- 5+ years of professional work experience as a mechanical engineer.
- Must have experience with linear motion, multi-axis, gantry system, or related motion system design.
- Experience using Solidworks or another 3D CAD design package is necessary.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and schematics.
- Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Familiarity with machining processes.
- Knowledge of different material (metals, plastics, etc.)
