The Land Acquisition Director is responsible for identifying, acquiring, initiating, developing, and delivering large scale energy projects nationwide throughout the United States.
Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the COO & VP, be part of the management team of the region together with the other Director colleagues.
- Manage a portfolio of electrical power plant, energy, oil & gas, pipeline, gas compression facilities, industrial construction project management, among other related projects; from greenfielding to start of construction. Lead the internal acquisition team through development and completion of assigned portfolio of projects
- Direct, steer, and execute the projects in the portfolio over the full lifecycle, working with a strong backbone of internal subject matter experts and external consultants. This includes site due diligence, securing land control agreements, environmental and permitting, interconnection, engineering & pre-construction, energy yield, tax abatements, power marketing, and tax equity financing.
- Set the development strategy in the assigned geographies. Understand the key drivers for project’s financial attractiveness and identify best locations in collaboration with internal commercial and technical teams
- Drive project competitiveness optimization, via technical, commercial, and financial levers
- Lead the due diligence of project acquisitions, in collaboration with internal M&A team
- Prepare management presentation and drive internal approval processes
- Manage project budgets, objectives, schedules, and deliverables for assigned development projects
- Actively participate in the strategy for the region and internal improvement initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, STEM related degree, business/economics, or relevant fields required.
- Advanced degree is a plus.
- Minimum 8 years of work experience applicable to large scale energy infrastructure, including experience in land acquisition and development of energy infrastructure projects in the US.
- Strong knowledge in key areas, including energy markets, prospecting, real estate development, interconnection, permitting, environmental, project engineering, construction management.
- Proven track record of acquiring, developing, and delivering large energy projects across the development lifecycle.

- This position is an office-based role with some travel and visits to other company office and field locations. The employee must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time.
