About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Utility-Scale Solar Commissioning Manager to oversee the commissioning of large-scale solar projects. This position requires extensive travel to various project sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical commissioning and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the commissioning of utility-scale solar projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
- Develop and implement detailed commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules.
- Coordinate and manage commissioning activities, including electrical systems testing, performance verification, and system integration.
- Lead and mentor the commissioning team, including contractors and subcontractors, to ensure effective execution of commissioning activities.
- Ensure adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, maintaining a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Conduct regular inspections, audits, and quality checks to identify and resolve any issues or non-conformances.
- Maintain detailed documentation of commissioning activities, including test results, punch lists, and as-built drawings.
- Collaborate with project management, engineering, and construction teams to ensure seamless project execution and timely completion.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting during the commissioning phase.
- Communicate progress, issues, and solutions to stakeholders, including clients, project managers, and senior management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commissioning utility-scale solar projects.
- Extensive experience with electrical commissioning and LOTO procedures.
- Strong understanding of solar PV systems, inverters, transformers, and related electrical components.
- Proven track record of managing and coordinating commissioning activities on large-scale solar projects.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Exceptional organizational and documentation skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Willingness to travel extensively to project sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with solar commissioning software and tools.
- Familiarity with industry standards and codes (e.g., NEC, IEEE, IEC).
- Experience with SCADA systems and data acquisition.
