Position Overview:
We is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Controls Analyst. The ideal candidate will focus on scheduling and cost loading for various projects within our electric utility operations. This role is crucial for ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget, contributing to the efficient delivery of our energy services to the community.
Key Responsibilities:
Scheduling:
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using industry-standard software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to define project scope, deliverables, and timelines.
- Monitor project progress and update schedules to reflect actual performance and changes.
- Identify potential scheduling risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Prepare and present regular schedule reports to stakeholders.
Cost Loading:
- Develop and manage project cost loading models to integrate cost data with schedules.
- Work closely with finance and project management teams to ensure accurate cost forecasts and budgets.
- Track and analyze project expenditures, ensuring alignment with approved budgets.
- Perform variance analysis and provide insights into cost performance and trends.
- Prepare cost reports and documentation for internal and external audits.
Project Monitoring and Reporting:
- Analyze project performance data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support project managers with performance metrics and progress reporting.
- Assist in the preparation of project status reports and presentations for senior management.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Act as a liaison between project teams, finance, and other departments to ensure cohesive project control processes.
- Facilitate regular meetings with project stakeholders to review schedule and cost performance.
- Provide training and support to project teams on project controls processes and tools.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in project controls, with a focus on scheduling and cost management, preferably in the utility or energy sector.
- Proficiency in project scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and cost management tools.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CCP) are a plus.
- Experience with electric utility projects and knowledge of industry-specific practices and regulations.
- Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and data integration.
