Job Title: Network Security Engineer
Location: Manhattan, NY (3x onsite, 2 days remote)
Compensation: $150,000 base + annual bonus
Currently supporting a Leading Commercial Bank in search of a Network Security Engineer responsible for the continuous upkeep, administration, and enhancement of security mechanisms to safeguard our digital assets. This individual will work in close coordination with the security and infrastructure teams, reporting directly to the CISO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy and Configure Security Solutions: Implement and fine-tune security technologies to ensure they are fully integrated into the overall security framework.
- Manage Network Defenses: Oversee the administration of protective systems to maintain the integrity of the network while minimizing disruptions to normal operations.
- Monitor Emerging Threats: Keep abreast of the latest developments in cybersecurity threats, mitigation strategies, and technological advancements.
- Collaborate on Secure Infrastructure: Partner with IT teams to design and implement secure environments that align with strategic objectives.
- Oversee Security Monitoring Systems: Manage systems that detect and log potential security incidents, enabling rapid response to emerging threats.
- Resolve Complex Security Issues: Perform detailed analyses to address and rectify security vulnerabilities, ensuring minimal disruption to business activities.
- Incident Management: Participate actively in the investigation and resolution of security incidents, including post-event analysis and remediation.
- Automate Security Tasks: Utilize advanced scripting to streamline security processes, reducing manual intervention and the risk of errors.
- Ensure Security Tool Integration: Maintain the efficient operation of the security ecosystem by integrating various security technologies and platforms.
Qualifications:
- Comprehensive understanding of network security principles and protocols
- F5 and Checkpoint expertise is a must
- Familiarity with encryption techniques and common cyber threats
- Expertise in cloud security concepts and best practices
- Knowledgeable in server and endpoint security
- Strong grasp of networking technologies and security devices
- Experienced with various operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux)
- Expertise in vulnerability assessment and penetration testing
- Advanced scripting abilities for task automation
