As a technical project manager, you are responsible for project success from inception to completion, delivering projects and deliverables on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. In this role, you will work with government customers to define project objectives, oversee progress, ensure alignment with mission objectives, and maintain positive customer and vendor relationships through effective leadership, coordination, and communication skills.

Responsibilities
- Review awarded project/contract documents to understand project requirements thoroughly, use insights to define project scope, and coordinate the development of tailored project solutions.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings and engagement efforts with project team members, vendors, and customers to align project objectives and resources with customer needs and organizational goals.
- Develop comprehensive project risk management plans to identify, evaluate, and address project risks, including proactive mitigation strategies and communication procedures.
- Create and uphold project communication plans identifying key stakeholders, establishing communication frequency, and determining effective channels for information dissemination.
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors for material acquisition, tracking equipment delivery lead times, and ensuring timely receipt and integration of project resources.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and engineers to validate system designs, establish testing and acceptance criteria, and produce acceptance documentation.
- Define unique deliverables for each project, generate related documentation, and oversee deliverable progress, quality control, and completion.
- Monitor project progress to identify deviations in project scope, budget, schedule, and other key areas to initiate and implement changes per change management procedures.
- Oversee and track the project budget by expense category, ensuring adherence to financial limits and initiating approved change request process for deviations.
- Coordinate travel arrangements for project teams, thoroughly documenting expenses and submitting receipts in adherence to budget constraints.
- Generate, submit, and track invoices per project invoice schedule. Collaborate closely with finance personnel to escalate and address invoice discrepancies or issues.
- Routinely review project documentation to guarantee compliance with standards, organizing and maintaining files with proper version control within designated folder structures.
- Submit scheduled customer satisfaction surveys and encourage customer participation, enabling the collection of feedback for addressing concerns and implementing improvements.
- Lead project closure activities, including customer closeout meetings and finalizing documents, ensuring all deliverables have been accepted and project objectives have been met.
- Create and compile after-action reports and lessons learned documentation upon project completion, facilitating review and analysis for future project improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Project Management, or related field.
- In lieu of a degree, high school diploma or GED authorized equivalent, with 3-5 years experience in Project Management, Engineering, Information Technology, or other related fields.
- Relevant Project Manager certification(s).
- Familiarity with government contracting processes, procedures, and standards.
- Proven competency in managing complex projects and multi-disciplinary teams.
Certifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or,
- Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or,
- Applicable industry-relevant project manager certifications.
- IT/AV-related certifications or experience (would be nice).
