Title: Staff Process Engineer

This position is responsible for the design of semiconductor process applications that would involve process and film development which meet customers’ requirements. The candidate will need to develop a good understanding of industry specifications and then drive film development, while working with hardware and software teams as well as account management personnel.
Major Responsibilities:
- To plan, design and execute experiments to develop novel ALD and CVD thin film deposition processes to meet on-wafer film requirements. Work with hardware and software teams to improve process performance.
- Employ process development methods such as DOE and systematic experimental design, and statistical data analysis skills to plan, analyze and summarize data.
- Prepare and present data summaries to executive management and be capable of recommending and driving the appropriate technical direction.
- Generate novel ALD and CVD process technology IP that gives the company a competitive edge.
- Stay abreast of state-of-the-art academic research and industry technological advances. Initiate and foster collaborations with academia and consortia.
- Support internal product development as well as external customer work.
- Work closely with Business Development and Marketing teams for customer interactions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Materials Science/Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Physics, or M.S. in same with 5+ years’ experience. Ph.D. preferred.
- Expert in ALD and CVD processes, especially as pertaining to the semiconductor industry.
- 8+ years’ experience of ALD/CVD Metal or Metal Nitride process.
- Experience with semiconductor 300mm capital equipment and typical manufacturing fab process technology requirements.
Expert in thin film metrology and analytical techniques, and statistical data analysis.
Hands-on experience with technology transfer of manufacturing processes preferred.
Solid understanding of the relationship between process and hardware to develop high performing HVM semiconductor equipment.
- Ability to work effectively in a highly leveraged fast paced environment is a must.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment is a must.
- Ability to travel to transfer process or support customer up to 10% of work time, if possible.
- Must possess solid communication skills and be able to present to executive staff.
Must possess a positive, can-do attitude and demonstrate creative problem-solving skills.
