PRIMARY PURPOSE OF JOB AND CONTRIBUTION TO ORGANIZATION:
This position ) is responsible for driving the growth of Interroll’s Sorter Portfolio – which includes the Vertical Crossbelt Sorter, Horizontal Crossbelt Sorter, and Split Tray Sorter. This position requires a focused approach to concepting sorter systems and supporting the sales of Sorters to System Integrators and the specification of Interroll Sorters by End-Users. The SSAE will work together with Interroll’s Regional Sales Teams and/or Sorter Solutions Specialist to build functional layouts that meet the customer’s requirements. SSAE shall coordinate activities with Sales Management, Subsystems Group Management, Project Management, Engineering, and others to improve the customer journey and improve deliverable processes. In addition to overseeing the Sorter Application Engineering, this person will oversee the other application engineers and review their work for completeness and accuracy.
ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following job functions are not all-inclusive. The employee must perform other job-related tasks/responsibilities the supervisor requests. Job duties may change as required by the needs of the company.
1. Support the sale of Sorters per Annual Goals
2. Support the Sales team for concepts, layouts, cost estimates, quotations, presentations, proposals, review of T&Cs, and other activities needed to close orders
3. Provide occasional support for the rest of “America’s” region (Canada, Mexico, and Brazil)
4. Interface with the customer to build customer approval layout drawings to meet customer requirements
5. Identify changes between the initial proposal/PO and approval drawing to capture any change orders required.
6. Perform system throughput calculations
7. Create 3d simplified concept models of chute designs to be handed off to project engineering for final design
8. Conduct an engineering kickoff meeting to handover project requirements and complete approval drawing to Project Engineering
9. Support the Project Engineering group throughout the project as needed
10. Lead a team of 2-3 other Application Engineers(AE) that focus on other product lines
11. Review the work of the other AE’s for completeness and accuracy
12. Other tasks as requested by the manager.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

2. Engineering or related degree
3. 5 Years of Material Handling Experience, preferred focus in sortation and/or system design
4. 2D and 3D modeling experience required. AutoCAD, Inventor, and Emulate 3D however other CAD software experience will be considered
5. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
6. Analytical and mathematical mind, capable of evaluating and solving various complex problems. 7. Organizational competencies and project management skills to keep projects, processes, and the sorter project team on track.
8. Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment. 9. Willingness to learn new technologies
10. Excellent technical writing skill
11. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
12. Knowledge of SAP a plus but not required
