Senior Project Architects come join Hobbs+Black's downtown Lansing office!
This position is not entry level. 8+ years of post-graduate technical work experience in an architectural firm or other AEC industry office is required.
As a Senior Project Architect, you will oversee managing new construction, renovation, and adaptive reuse projects in Michigan and other US states. This position is exposed to a broad range of project types including education, civic, commercial, research and development, hospitality, and other project types from planning and design inception through construction completion.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage A/E projects on all levels from planning and design conception through construction.
- Effectively communicate and coordinate with project team, consultants, and clients.
- Prepare complex architectural construction drawings for new construction and renovation.
- Oversee and maintain project schedules, cost projections, and budget estimates.
- Manage site planning and zoning research.
- Attend planning and zoning, and/or municipal meetings.
- Develop and advance planning concepts.
- Develop technical solutions for projects.
- Develop and draft architectural plans and details.
- Manage the preparation of bid packages.
- Supervise construction administration tasks, including submittal review, fieldwork, and documentation.
- Maintains and complies with Hobbs+Black and client project standards.
- Competent project time and expense documentation skills.
- Effective leadership and management of support team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field with technical architecture experience.
- 8+ years of technical work experience post graduate is required.
- Practical knowledge of the architectural and building design process.
- Advanced technical development, coordination, and review of construction documentation.
- Excellent technical proficiency in Architectural CAD and Revit.
- Excellent technical problem-solving skills.
- Construction administration design and implementation.
- Proficient in building codes and ADA requirements.
- Consistent ability to successfully meet deadlines.
- Effective project management skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams.
- Architectural license preferred or equivalent work experience.
- Must be able to appear in-office 3 days per week.
