Job Summary:
We are growing quickly and are creating a supervisory role in the IT department that will play a key role in developing the department and helping to build a foundation to ensure the department continues to meet the needs of the business. This position will provide desk side support to end users, perform administrative duties in Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and a variety of business system applications in addition to managing the company’s network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, WAN links and Wi-Fi systems.
The IT Support Lead will supervise the activities of helpdesk technicians and other administrators as the department continues to grow.
In this role, your duties will include ensuring optimal use of our hardware and software technologies, providing support on computer hardware, mobile devices, and business software, enhancing system performance, and securing data. You will also be required to advise on IT equipment upgrades.
Deep knowledge and experience in administration of Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, SharePoint and various hosted business systems is essential.
The successful IT Support Lead will have a strong desire to help create systems and processes to promote the alignment of IT with various functional areas across the business. This will be an in-office position supporting both on premise and remote users. Occasional travel to remote sites or to perform duties associated with business acquisitions may be required. Flexibility to work non-traditional hours to support initiatives and on-call availability is important.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Supervise and mentor IT staff, providing guidance and support for professional development.
- Providing hardware and software support to end-users.
- User account management.
- Monitoring devices and creating policies and profiles in Intune.
- Investigating and responding to alerts and events in Microsoft 365 Defender.
- Onboarding and offboarding user accounts.
- Resolving helpdesk requests in a timely manner.
- Managing service escalation to outside vendors.
- Monitoring hardware, software, and system performance metrics.
- Managing patch installation and updates.
- Documenting processes and procedures.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in varying IT support roles with an emphasis on the Microsoft 365 stack; Entra ID, Intune, Microsoft 365 Defender, and Exchange Online.
- SharePoint administration experience; site creation, security and document management.
- Exceptional ability and willingness to provide technical support and resolve issues.
- Effective communication style and willingness to mentor junior staff members.
- 2-3 years of experience managing Firewalls and wireless networking equipment.
- Experience managing MDM systems including Intune.
- Ability to monitor and track asset inventory across the Enterprise.
- In-depth knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking.
- Experience in documenting processes and monitoring systems performance metrics.
- Ability to keep up with technical innovation and trends in IT support.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years proven related experience.
