The Intralogistics Engineer is responsible for designing, conceptualizing, testing, and engineering warehouse solutions (racking, conveyor, automated storage and retrieval systems, material handling robotics, dock and door installation, etc.) for Bailey and Bailey’s customers.
The Intralogistics Engineer collaborates heavily with the sales team at Bailey and requires some regional travel. Given this person’s skillset, project management of other company efforts and initiatives will be required at times. The Intralogistics Engineer reports to the Intralogistics Director.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design intralogistics projects for warehouse design, racking, conveyor, AGV / automation, automated storage and retrieval systems, material handling robotics (goods-to-person robotics, etc.), operations consulting, and other engineered solutions.
- Develop and assist with quotes, estimates, proposals, and visualizations.
- Champion quality control to ensure intralogistics projects are well designed, safe, and within budget.
- Manage any assigned engineering staff (CAD designers, contractors, etc.).
- Administer contracts, permits, insurance requirements, and other required documentation for projects.
- Assist with development of new partnerships with solutions providers, suppliers, subcontractors, and referral partners.
- Travel to support solutions design and the customer experience.
- Work with customers and the sales team on data collection, specifications, and solution requirements.
- Support the growth of narrow / very narrow aisle equipment and telematics.
- Supports Bailey’s zero waste and sustainability efforts through process improvement, waste reduction, and the delivery of environmentally sustainable solutions.
- Project manage other initiatives and projects (construction, integrations, etc.), and handle additional tasks and responsibilities, as assigned.

Requirements

Education/Training/Experience:
- College Degree (required), with degree in industrial engineering preferred
- MBA or advanced degree (preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in industrial engineering, construction management, material handling robotics, automated storage & retrieval systems, automation / engineered solutions sales, management consulting in an operations setting
