6-12+ Month Contract
Location - Des Plaines, IL (1-2 days a week)
Our client is looking to add a Digital Solutions Engineer, that will be responsible for providing essential support for our software and systems. Your role will focus on ensuring the smooth functioning of our applications, assisting users, and contributing to the overall maintenance and enhancement of our technological infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
• Provide first and second-level support for OpenText Liquid Office System.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical problems related to operating systems, hardware, and software that run these systems.
• Liaise with internal users to gather detailed information to understand the nature of their technical issues.
• Document all technical inquiries, issues, and solutions in ServiceNow for future reference.
• Provide support for other critical enterprise applications that typically do not require full-time support from other teams.
• Work with the Security team to apply security policies required to move changed code to production.
• Create system documentation that will be utilized to support the tools and applications that are supported. Some tools or applications could be transitioned to other departments for steady-state support.
• Assist the Application Development and Enterprise Architecture teams by studying emerging technologies and sharing this information with other teams.
• Participate in periodic meetings with the management team to plan, review and monitor operations.
• Assure projects are deployable upon completion and meet the Operational Readiness criteria.
• Maintain effective communication with management regarding developments within areas of assigned responsibilities and perform special projects as required or requested.
• Be self-directed and show ability to manage and prioritize their own work. Be able to manage multiple projects at the same time, with appropriate prioritization given to each project.
• Provide technical mentorship to others.
Qualifications:
• Expert knowledge of JavaScript, C#, Microsoft SQL Server, with 5-10+ years’ experience.
• Proven experience in application support, or a similar role.
• Working knowledge and utilization of SSRS and SSIS tools.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work with the Business Analysts and the Business to document and implement the processes that will meet the Business’s needs.
• Experience working with internal and external API’s, to get the most efficiency out of our processes.
• Experience with Azure Dev Ops (ADO) boards, git repos, and pipelines.
• Outstanding troubleshooting experience with applications and tools
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure in order to get systems functioning.
• Comfortable in dealing with individuals above and below position
• Extensive knowledge of project management processes and project execution best practices
• Expectation to support critical systems as required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to learn new applications quickly
• Ability to be an individual contributor
• Ability to work effectively on a project team
• Excellent proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint products
• Work Experience using Liquid Office or other process automation tools preferred.
