Project Summary
We're looking for a Control Systems Engineer for a long-term contract within the entertainment (provider) industry. This role will work directly on the client's site presenting a unique opportunity to utilize your creativity and engineering skills while working with the most innovative technology; with the primary goal creating a thrilling experience for the customers!
Responsibilities (not limited to)
- Manage entire scope of design and develop control systems for a wide variety of complex and innovative systems and related equipment
- Conduct systems engineering for control systems
- Define system use cases and user needs
- Develop control system design and implementation, from concept to commissioning, for a wide variety of innovative platforms
- Develop and capture requirements and functional specifications in documents, drawings, and models
- Develop and implement mock-ups and prototypes for proof-of concept efforts
- Develop test requirements and documents, and lead testing efforts
- Ensure compliance with control system safety standards
- Research new products, technologies, and methodologies
- Design, model, and analyze control systems, data communication, and dynamic systems
- Collaborate with other design and engineering professionals to implement ride control systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering field from an accredited university
- 5 to 7 years of experience Control System Engineer role or equivalent; experience leading projects or consultant engineering preferred
- 3+ years' experience in fail-safe and safety-related control system design
- Familiarity with Allen Bradley & Siemens PLCs
- Exceptional skills in industrial control system installation, integration, and commissioning
- Strong experience with and knowledge of communication protocols such as TCP/IP, CAN, serial, PROFINET, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT
- Extensive knowledge of control processors, components, and communication networks
- Proven experience with requirements management, test plans/procedures, and test execution
- Demonstrated knowledge & understanding in functional safety standards, including IEC 61508, IEC 62061, ISO 13849
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally for 1-week to 3-year durations
- Capability to handle multiple complex efforts simultaneously, coordinate team efforts, and manage tasks and priorities
- Familiarity with amusement and automation industry standards
- Solid skills in technical document writing
