Maintenance & Engineering Manager
Direct plant Maintenance and Engineering operations by setting goals and objectives, selecting and developing supervisory staff and maintaining a productive work environment in order to meet plant objectives and established production schedules. Implementation and maintenance of all environmental, and loss control programs and policies of the Company. Ensure all safety, quality, and productivity processes and procedures are followed within areas of responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Direct and plan maintenance and plant engineering operations to maximize equipment uptime and production.
- Ensures that safety and environment management systems requirements are established, implemented, and maintained.
- Interacts with outside, governing entities such as EPA, IDEM etc.
- Oversee planning related to modification of existing plant facilities or installation of new plant facilities including all requirements, costs, specifications, timetables, etc.
- Maintains necessary programs and processes to comply with Company’s ISO 14001 program.
- Conduct environmental testing on a regular basis. Record and report findings and recommend corrective action where necessary. Complete and submit necessary governmental reports.
- Maintain communication between Plant Engineering and other departments, outside contractors, corporate engineering, regulatory agencies, etc. as necessary to achieve desired results.
- Ensure all federal, state, local and Company regulations are observed and enforced.
- Develop an effective machinery maintenance program, including preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Conducts EHS audits, incident investigations (including 5-Why analysis), and identifies / approves of corrective actions.
- Assess quality of repairs, diagnosis of equipment problems, and ensure adequate supplies of materials and/or parts required to complete repairs.
- Maintain close observation over maintenance operations, providing guidance concerning proper maintenance methods.
- Evaluate work performance and counsel and coach supervisors to maintain efficient work performance.
- Oversee the development and operation of maintenance data systems, delay reporting, inventory control, equipment history, and maintenance cost tracking.
- Prepare budget for engineering projects and maintenance operation and administer and control budget during the business year.
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree preferred but not required
- 5-7+ years of Management experience within a Maintenance and/or Engineering capacity
- Must have previous manufacturing industry experience
