Position Overview: As a Fiber Technician you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fiber optic cables, ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of our network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the capability to work independently or as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Install, splice, terminate, and test fiber optic cables.
- Troubleshoot and repair fiber optic cables issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Interpret and work from technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
- Follow company regulations for underground utilities excavation.
Qualifications:
- Valid Nevada driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Pass a pre-employment drug test.
- OSHA 10 Construction Industry
- Experience with underground utilities preferred.
- Proven experience in fiber optic installations and related construction activities.
- Proficiency in using fiber optic tools and equipment, such as OTDRs, splicing machines and power meters.
- Technical certification or degree in related field is preferred.
- Experience in micro trenching is a plus.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions and perform physical tasks, such as lifting, climbing and operating in confined spaces.
