Position Summary
We're seeking an ISA Certified Arborist (Utility Specialist and/or TRAQ a plus) as a Vegetation Management Quality Control Specialist.
This will be a field-based, contract-dependent role. Professionals will be deployed to various locations within our client's territory throughout Central Valley North, including but not limited to: Angels Camp, Sonora, Jackson, Bear Valley, Groveland and other surrounding areas. The primary responsibility will be providing QC support to our Client's Vegetation Management Program.
- Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInspect rights-of-way to assess vegetation conditions and determine required maintenance activities
- Research easement and land rights for widths, rights, and restrictions
- Meet with landowners to explain vegetation management work
- Mark work in the field where required
- Respond to public concerns and questions about the work
- Respond to contractor questions concerning work specification and requirements
- Document work activity using GIS equipped computer & custom work planning software
- Inspect work completed by contractors for compliance to utility specifications
- Provide support and assistance on special projects as assigned by the utility
- Ability to accurately identify tree, plant species and have working knowledge of growth rates and measurements
- QuailficationsMust be 18 years of age or older
- Arboriculture (Tree Work, Landscaping, PI, etc.): 4 years required
- Must be able to work in an independent manner with minimal supervision
- Punctual, professional, and detail-oriented
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are a necessity
- Customer relation and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to read and follow maps
- Must be proficient in using technology including cell phone, tablet, apps, GPS, Microsoft Office Suite, and range finders
- Collector App knowledge and experience desired
- Valid Driver's License with a Clean Record in good standing. Possess the ability to drive and operate a 4X4 vehicle
- Ability to be on your feet for long hours while working outdoors and in rugged terrain and inclement weather
- Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification
- Pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Preferred QualificationsA 2 or 4-year degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, Biology, Environmental studies, or related field - or
- 7+ years of satisfactory experience working on electrical utility projects
