Our client, an RF-focused company located in Austin, TX, is seeking a PCB Design Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in Altium and experience with the design and layout of PCBs, including developing schematic diagrams and creating assembly drawings. This on-site role requires the successful candidate to be a US Citizen or Green Card holder due to the nature of the work.
The position offers a base salary range of $115k - $135k, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes dental, vision, health, and life insurance, a 401(k) plan, and paid time off (PTO).
Key Responsibilities:
- From initial sketch to manufacture, design and layout PCBs using Altium Designer, ensuring adherence to IPC and industry standards.
- Convert customer requirements into designs, ensuring compliance with work authorization requirements and functional specifications provided by design teams.
- Develop and document schematic diagrams, create assembly drawings, and generate bills of materials (BOM).
- Exhibit thorough understanding of PCB design and manufacturing processes, including electronic components and their applications.
- Use Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout, and manage the CAD library, including symbols, footprints, and database administration.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years with Altium Designer; experience with Cadence and SolidWorks is beneficial.
- Proven experience in developing mixed-signal boards from concept to production, including routing digital, analog, RF, and power functions.
- Ability to produce comprehensive documentation for PCB release and production, and support manufacturing processes.
- Expertise in enhancing PCB designs, resolving technical issues with fabricators and contract manufacturers, and proposing process improvements for functionality, quality, and reliability.
- Experience in structured product development within a collaborative team, adhering to schedules and budget constraints.
