We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong civil engineering background to lead and manage diverse infrastructure projects, contribute to corporate strategy, and foster team and client growth.
Position Overview:
This is a leadership role that combines both technical expertise and operational management in a high performing firm known for its innovation and efficiency. The successful candidate must also possess similar attributes in order to align with the firm’s culture. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the design and construction of water and wastewater utilities, stormwater systems, roadways, drainage, and land development projects for a mix of municipal and private clients. In addition, the candidate will be involved in high level corporate decision-making, helping shape new market strategies, project pursuits, client selection, staff management, and risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the planning, design, and construction of civil infrastructure and municipal engineering projects including water/wastewater systems, pump stations, roadways, hydrology, stormwater, drainage, flood control, resiliency measures, environmental permitting, feasibility studies and land development.
-Participate in all phases of project execution during site/civil construction, from the preparation of specifications and contracts to construction monitoring, progress meetings, change order evaluations, pay applications, and final close out.
- Lead project teams, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk management are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams to deliver seamless and coordinated project outcomes.
- Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to junior engineering staff.
- Assist in business development efforts, including marketing to key clients, contract negotiation, and preparing RFP/RFQ responses.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients to support ongoing business growth and repeat engagements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in civil engineering project management.
- Active Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and decision making skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Hydraulic analysis for water and sewer systems, HEC-RAS, ArcMap, ICPR, StormCAD, and other relevant engineering software.
- Strong sense of urgency, responsibility, and initiative.
