Job Title: Civil Design Engineer II
pay: $70-90k
Job Summary
An employer in the civil engineering industry is seeking a Civil Design Engineer 2 to join their team in the Arvada, CO 80002 area. Initially, this role will involve focusing on a $5 million sewer design project. In the long term, the employer aims to engage in municipal utility water and wastewater projects, with additional involvement in roadway and grading work. Other utility projects may include, but are not limited to, stormwater management system design, water treatment plants, sewer system rehabilitation, water distribution systems, and flood control infrastructure.
General Accountabilities
• Assisting with plan production for local water line projects, including a septic and sewer program.
• Daily use of Civil 3D, with a focus on designing and drafting gravity pipe networks.
• Assist with grading, utility, and improvement plans.
• Prepare estimates for quantities and costs of materials.
•Analyze surveys, maps, drawings, aerial photographs, and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects.
• Compile and submit permit applications to local, state, and federal agencies verifying that projects comply with various regulations.
•Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and standards.
• Assist in the preparation of hydrology reports, water quality management studies, SWPPS, water and sewer studies, emras, and other needed engineering documents and exhibits.
• Assist in the design of energy efficient or environmentally sound civil structures.
- Lead and support interns and CAD techs on projects.
LOCATION:
- This person will sit onsite 5 days per week in the 80002 zip code
SCHEDULE:
- Monday - Thursday: 9 hour shifts (between 7am - 6pm MT)
- Fridays: half days
Job Qualifications
• 2-4 years of experience with plan production using Civil 3D tools, specifically for Pipe Networks (gravity or pressure pipe networks) in wet utility projects.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field
• License: EIT and taken the 8-hour portion of PE Exam preferred.
-Experience and understanding of utility design for sewers, water systems, storm drains, wastewater, etc.
Nice to have Skills:
- Experience with Denver water plans - strict CAD standards
- Experience supporting projects that are focused on water, sewer, and land development (public infrastructure, grading, curve ramps, etc)
- ArcGIS experience
- MicroStation experience
