Highland Land Planning is a full-service engineering firm located in Peachtree City, Georgia. Highland Land Planning partners with Southtree Commercial, a commercial construction company offering complete development phase services from pre-design through construction with divisions including Real Estate, Development, Engineering, Construction, and Property Management.
Highland specializes in Land Development projects throughout the southeast, including commercial, industrial, medical, and residential projects. Working with a team of Engineers, CAD Designers and Landscape Architects, Highland utilizes AutoCAD Civil 3D for both the two-dimensional layout and full three-dimensional modeling of its projects to provide its Team, Clients and Contractors with complete civil construction documents and CAD files.
Jason Walls, P.E. (Auburn, 1995), Highland’s Founder and Principal Engineer, has over 28 years of civil engineering experience in the local and southeastern markets. Founded in 2023 with Reid Almand, P.E. (Georgia Southern, 2013), Highland Land Planning has over 40 years of combined experience in the civil engineering field.
Role Description
Highland is currently seeking a Project Engineer to work with CAD designers and assist senior engineering staff in planning, site layout, design, and the development of full sets of site development plans and civil construction documents. This position requires the ability to work independently as well as in a group setting. This is a full-time opportunity for a dynamic candidate looking for career growth in Civil/ Construction Engineering field. In this role, the candidate will assist with developing site development plans for various projects. This includes coordinating and assisting CAD designers, Landscape Architects and Senior Engineers on the layout and design of project sites, including stormwater management design, utility layout, parking layout, grading and drainage, and erosion control. Highland utilizes AutoCAD Civil 3D for a majority of projects, and several other programs to accomplish our design goals. The ideal candidate is highly organized and detail-oriented and should have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Required Qualifications
B.S. in Civil Engineering/ Construction Engineering from an accredited university.
Preferred Qualifications
· 0-5 years of experience
· Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred, or working towards
· Basic understanding (0-2 years) or proficient (2-5 years) of relevant software including AutoCAD/Civil 3D and Microsoft Office
· Ability to work well in a team environment and multi-task while being self-motivated
· Desire to learn and grow professionally

Participation in 401K with company match of 100% up to 4% of base salary is available. We offer eight paid holidays per calendar year, personal time and paid vacation. The annual salary for this position starts at $68,000 plus vehicle and cell phone stipends.
