Location: Preference for onsite in San Diego, but open to remote candidates, ideally in PST
Our startup client in the wearable/health space is in need of an Associate Product Manager to join their team for a 6+ month contract, 40 hours/week with the intent to convert to full-time for the right fit.
The primary responsibilities for this Associate Product Manager role include:
- Coordinating the day-to-day operations and management of a core portion of the team's product roadmap and software portfolio
- Working with Engineering and Product Design to assist scoping, design, and develop features from early concepts to launch
- Assisting in the identification of user needs and translation to detailed product requirements & documentation
- Supporting engineering, design, and QA teams to ensure timely and high-quality software delivery
- Helping prioritize features, enhancements, and bug fixes based on customer and business impact
- Collaborating with the team to create and socialize product plans and development roadmaps
- Driving the execution of primary and secondary research alongside the Product & Product Design teams to identify unmet user needs and evaluate designs; expected to contribute experiment designs, written protocols, and research plans
- Providing analysis of research findings to inform actionable product decisions, deliver on user needs, and drive meaningful outcomes for the business
- Understanding and continually research the competitive landscape and market trends, and report on market developments
- Monitoring product success metrics and evaluate the impact on the business
- Maximizing efficiency in a constantly evolving environment where the process is fluid
- Coordinating complex schedules that involve both internal and external teams, across hardware and software
The successful Associate Product Manager has:
- BA and 2+ years of experience as a product manager, or equivalent experience in user research, product design or engineering
- Highly skilled in Figma, JIRA
- Able to collaborate with and influence a cross-functional team
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Able to draw conclusions from data, user and market insights, management information, and industry trends
- Can take rough themes and turn them into a roadmap of features, experiments, and research with reasonable guidance
- Sound time management and organizational skills, delivering high quality results on tight deadlines
- Naturally curious, and passionate about learning about customers, product, and industry
- Experience developing software, e.g. iOS and/or Android mobile applications, and Web applications in an agile environment
- Healthcare, wellness, medical device experience, especially diabetes device or application experience a plus
- Background in chronic disease prevention and management a plus
