SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsibilities include activities to support research and new product development. Perform simple experiments as directed by Scientist or Manager
- Supports resolution of product performance issues
- Collects and summarize experimental data.
- Conducts research, process development, validations, creation and implementation of documentation
- Maintains project documentation and laboratory notebooks in accordance with internal company and external regulatory requirements as part of the design control process
- Maintains a safe working environment
- Assists in developing raw material, in process and product specifications
- Assists in developing QC standards and test methods
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supports simple experiments and validation protocols, supports problem solving or trouble-shooting activities under the guidance of a scientist or manager.
- Maintains detailed and organized notebook records
- Data analysis, interpretation and recommendations through experimental reports
- Participates in team environments and interacts with team members professionally
- Other: Maintains good communication with supervisors and peers, maintains a safe working environment training, carries out duties in compliance with established business policies
Requirements
Education and Experience
- BS/BA or equivalent in life sciences or chemistry and skills associated with 1-3 years of experience.
Knowledge/Skills
- Background in chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology, virology, immunology, or related field
- Specific technical skills and/or educational background as defined by management based on anticipated and approved projects in agreement with strategic company goals and objectives
- Good organizational skills and an ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Must exhibit professionalism and maturity and display desire to succeed, be motivated and proactive
- Working knowledge of analytical tools used in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Immunoassay Development
- Basic understanding of GMP and ISO 13485 quality system regulations preferred
- Demonstrate willingness and ability to work cross-functionally in other areas
- Desire to actively seek out new, job-related responsibilities and learning opportunities
- Appropriate computer skills (e-mail, graphing software, word processing)
- Works on problems of moderate scope and must be able to solve technical problems encountered in routine procedures; receives detailed instructions on new assignments.
- Individual must be able to complete activities per communicated timelines.
- Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
Schedule: Hours will include 2nd shift and weekend work once candidate is trained. Training hours will likely be regular M-F 8-5 or 9-6. Weekend day schedules will also include second shift, depending on project needs. Will be supervised 100% during all shifts. Will work 5 days, exact days and shifts will depend on project needs to cover 2 shifts 7 days a week.
