Job Description:
This Individual is responsible for managing, controlling and directing the material planning, inventory control, storage, shipping and receiving functions. This positition will be strictly Materials focused while working with other departments to meet business needs.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate with the purchasing, production, and engineering departments to ensure adequate supply and efficient material movement.
- Coordinate and Oversee Kitting Processes: Ensure the accurate and timely assembly of all necessary components into kits, enhancing production efficiency and minimizing downtime by verifying the availability and quality of parts required for each kit.
- Provide for the development and maintenance of inventory control systems by tracking the status of purchase orders, inventory levels and production requirements.
- Review existing procedures for accuracy; recommend and implement improved procedures when necessary.
- Forecast plans for anticipated materials requirements.
- Review production schedules to ensure the availability of materials.
Qualifications
- Requires a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Requires at least 10 years related experience.
- At least 5 years related experience is preferred.
- Experience with 'Lean' material management preferred. Must be detail oriented and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal skills to effectively communicate with other departments required.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong, team-oriented relationships with co-workers.
- Expert knowledge in data analysis tools including Excel, Access.
- Experience in SAP would be Plus.
