Job Summary
The Clinical Systems Engineer focuses on the planning, implementation, and management of network-attached medical device infrastructure (BMDI) across facilities. Responsibilities include deploying and maintaining hardware and software, improving end-user and clinician experiences, and supporting clinical equipment. This role requires 2 years of experience in medical device integration and support, with experience in BMDI systems and preferably Epic. The Clinical Systems Engineer will lead projects, educate staff, and mentor IT associates.
Job Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field preferred.
Licensure: Network+ or CCNA certification preferred.
Experience:
- 6 years with on-prem and hosted BMDI systems, such as Capsule, Carescape, or similar.
- 8 years with microcomputers and networking software.
- Experience with Epic systems preferred.
Skills:
- Highly motivated and detail-oriented with strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and technical skills.
- Proficient in hospital and related information systems, including BMDI and Epic.
- Capable of working effectively with vendors and consultants.
- Well-organized and self-driven.
Working Conditions
Work in an office or information systems environment with frequent interruptions and tight deadlines. Handling sensitive patient and business information is required. Must be able to lift and transport equipment, maintain a flexible schedule, and manage priorities under stress.
Performance Standards
- Support: Provide advanced technical support for BMDI systems with minimal errors and timely resolution.
- System Installation: Oversee installation and upgrades of BMDI systems, ensuring timely processing and documentation.
- Inventory Management: Track and update inventory, maintaining accuracy with minimal errors.
- Department Efficiency: Attend meetings, stay current with systems, pursue professional development, and contribute to process improvements.
Additional duties include on-call support and other tasks as assigned by the Director of Information Services.
