Compensation Structure: 110k-125k + Bonus + Outstanding Benefits including full medical coverage
Scope of Responsibilities:
The Renewables Operations Center (ROC) Manager will manage a team of ROC Operators ensuring all assets are running efficiently and optimally. The ROC Manager will be fully responsibility for leading and managing the real-time and day to day activities of Renewables Operations Center. Additional duties include:
- Ensuring that all renewable energy assets operations are conducted in the most efficient and reliable manner and according to industry best practices.
- Operates within all regulatory requirements, as well as environmental and safety standards.
- Defining and developing all procedures necessary to ensure efficient and effective remote operations of the renewable energy assets within our fleet including alarm and warning resolution, substation switching operations, curtailment procedures, call-out procedures, casualty control, and emergency action planning
- Ensuring maximum SCADA connectivity and resolving SCADA/communication failures to ensure control and monitoring capabilities are always available.
- Developing optimized communication systems between the renewable energy assets we manage, Transmission Operators and off-takers.
- Performance improvement and failure analysis of SCADA systems and ROC processes
- Oversees selection, productivity, and professional development of all ROC personnel.
- Maintains a thorough understanding of and ensures compliance with all regulations established by NERC and FERC
- Draft and implement operational protocols in collaboration with Field Operations, Customers and support teams.
- Reviewing, updating and creating new strategies to ensure the accuracy of real-time power generation output
- Monitor inclement weather patterns and anticipating upcoming issues due to various weather impacts.
- Develops and implements the ROC training and certification requirements, including all regulatory functions required of an Operations Control Center
- Responsible for delivering appropriate support and data to ISO operations and counterparty transaction management services.
- Trains shift personnel in the conduct of their duties as ROC operators.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field or a combination of higher education and direct experience in control center operations management
- 3+ years of experience managing a control center for a utility, ISO, or major third-party resource control center provider
- Scheduling / progress control techniques
- Experience with development and management of databases
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to plan, organize, direct, and execute processes and plans
- Oral and written communication and presentation skills
