Health Services Systems Analyst II
W2 Contract-to-Hire
Salary Range: $124,800 - $145,600 per year
Location: Martinez, CA - Hybrid Role
Job Summary:
As a Health Services Systems Analyst, you will be responsible for the continuous professional support of a specific clinical, business, and operational application suite, including planning, implementing, and organizing activities related to the selection, deployment, and optimization of enterprise-wide health services applications across various hardware platforms, operating systems, and software environments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and document significant aspects of the project and processes.
- Develop system modification or replacement proposals, including cost-benefit analysis and resource requirements.
- Create and maintain project plans and coordinate steps to meet implementation or upgrade schedules.
- Implement application changes to support internal and external customers.
- Develop detailed procedures for software installation and configuration.
- Develop test plans for all changes and upgrades to ensure performance and the maintenance of data integrity.
- Perform system and process integration as needed within the scope of the project.
- Identify, track, and report problems to vendors and follow up with customers.
- Develop requirement documents to ensure that the business needs, including functional specifications, are documented and reviewed before system acquisition or system enhancement.
- Communicate changes to internal and external customers and department management promptly.
- Develop and maintain training environments and materials and provide role-based education (classroom setting, handouts, e-learning, etc.).
- Coordinate and provide initial and follow-up training to customers.
- Work with internal analysts and technical staff to conceptualize functions, data structures, and best fit and create functional specifications to meet customer expectations.
- Propose comprehensive options for solutions to complex problems, considering all technical and operational issues.
- Provide objective assessments of implementation quality, documenting sources of error and "lessons learned."
- Define and perform primary testing of enhancement and upgrades before release to users.
- Function as a liaison between the technical team, user community, and stakeholders
- Identify scarce, inadequate, or absent resources and make provisions to resolve the deficiencies.
- Provide assessments of existing system capabilities, workflow, user requirements, options, and outcomes to evaluate the effectiveness of changes.
- Provide and promote excellence in customer service for both internal and external customers.
- May provide lead direction to junior personnel.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Medical Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Health Sciences, Business Administration, Public Administration, Engineering, or a closely related field
- 3+ years of system analysis experience; 2+ years of experience in a healthcare IT environment, working with end users to extract, document, and optimize data flow, implement hospital systems, and support applications and databases.
- Demonstrable project management experience as a technical or application team lead for a major complex project or direct experience as a project manager for smaller projects.
- You may be required to obtain and maintain vendor-specific certifications on supported applications. Possession of a current Epic certification may substitute for required education.
- Able to protect the security and confidentiality of system data.
- Knowledge of health information systems applications, health information exchanges, and standard healthcare message formats
