JOB DESCRIPTION
LICENSED ELECTRICAL ENGINEER (PE)
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
The Licensed Electrical Engineer (PE) provides engineering expertise and a thorough understanding of power and lighting distribution for industrial/commercial applications to be installed by electrical contractors. The Licensed Electrical Engineer also provides support, guidance, and expertise to the other members of the engineering team. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Engineering.
RESPONSIBILITIES
SKILL, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Design and coordinate all power and lighting distribution systems meeting project specifications
Review and oversee layout work performed by unlicensed engineers on the engineering team
Manage and schedule 3D modelers/2D Drafters (VDC/BIM modelers)
Review, edit and generate written project specifications
Generate and/or review production submittals against project specifications
Assist in the estimating process for electrical contractors by attending walk throughs, defining scope, and generating bill of materials
Degree in Electrical Engineering required
Must be currently registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in a U.S. state
Strong skills and proficient in Revit software required
Proven experience with reviewing, editing, and writing project specifications required
Experience with generating and/or reviewing production submittals against project specifications required
Experience with walk throughs, defining scope and generating bill of materials required
Must be self-directed
Must also be able to manage others and possess strong communication skills
Ability to work cohesively with other departments within the company
Strong organizational skills: ability to manage multiple projects at once and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities, and follow projects to completion
Strong problem-solving skills required
Ability to travel 10-20% of the time to jobsites in multiple states
