What You’ll Do:
- Work independently to research, analyze, and compile technical data for company products and system-level concepts in the projected operational environments to optimize effectiveness over the program lifecycle
- Design, develop, and optimize Radio Frequency (RF) systems and components for various applications
- Play a key role in leading and managing RF engineering projects, including planning, execution, and delivery
- Oversee testing, validation, and troubleshooting of RF systems and solutions
- Evaluate existing software tool suites and maintenance procedures; develop a technical refresh timeline and path towards modernization and increased efficiencies
- Identify and manage project risks, ensuring timely resolution of issues
- Lead remote site troubleshooting and assist site technicians with executing established procedures
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system integration, comprehensive testing, and project objectives and timelines
- Address sustainment and obsolescence challenges and coordinate with stakeholders to develop alternative solutions to guarantee reliability and continued product effectiveness
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or other technical field OR equivalent relevant experience in lieu of degree
- 8+ years of relevant experience in a network operations or spacecraft operations environment
- Proven experience in designing and implementing RF solutions and link budgets
- Strong understanding of Positioning Navigation and Timing (PNT/GPS) integration
- Demonstrated project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and resource management
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issues to groups outside of your team or those who are unfamiliar with the topic
- Have confidence and be able to easily build relationships with leadership and colleagues outside of your team
- Possess an analytical mindset, with the ability to understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions and come up with out-of-the-box solutions
- Be proactive in providing feedback and be enthusiastic in sharing your knowledge with others
- Capable of prioritizing your own tasks and potentially the tasks of others while making sure deadlines are met
Things That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table:
- Familiarity with both Linux and Windows operating systems
- Proficiency in script development using Python, PERL, or similar languages
- Understanding and competent with AGILE, JIRA, and Project Management
- Familiarity with Network and System securities, configurations, and best practices
- Familiarity with Network Security with respect to both Commercial and Government security policies and processes
We’ll also need you to:
- Be able to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Be comfortable working at heights of up to 25 ft. and climbing vertical ladders up to 10 ft.
- Be able to travel up to 25%
- Be a U.S. Citizen
Work Environment:
This position primarily works in the company office or in a home office. The position is largely sedentary with the majority of the position sitting in a chair and working with a computer. At times, this role will require climbing up onto the antenna system to remove or replace equipment and/or Hardware or may require the use of power and/or hand tools. The role uses basic office equipment including a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse and printer. For in person meetings, this position will need to be able stand, walk within the office and climb stairs on occasion.
