Sr Mechanical Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and optimizing machinery and systems used in the manufacturing of roofing materials. This position requires a strong background in mechanical engineering, with a focus on automation, machine design, and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
● Lead the design and development of mechanical systems and components for roofing manufacturing equipment, including but not limited to metal roofing and shingle production machinery.
● Utilize CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) to create detailed engineering drawings and 3D models.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, controls engineers, and manufacturing personnel to ensure integrated and optimized designs.
● Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring that all deliverables meet quality standards, are completed on time, and stay within budget.
● Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and engineering technicians.
● Oversee the prototyping and testing of new mechanical designs to validate performance, reliability, and manufacturability.
● Identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency, reliability, and safety of roofing manufacturing systems.
● Evaluate and recommend new technologies and materials to enhance product performance and reduce costs.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
● Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in industrial machinery.
● Proven experience with the design and development of automated machinery and mechanical systems.
