AS400 Programmer

Project Overview: The current project involves replacing our 20+ year-old AS400 hardware with a new AS400 Power10 Server at the Atlanta Data Center. The existing AS400 hardware is operating at 90% capacity and cannot accommodate further growth, necessitating an upgrade before the upcoming holiday rush season.
Job Purpose: We are seeking experienced AS400 Programmers to join our team. The ideal candidates will possess strong skills in AS-400, RPG, and JD Edwards. Your primary objective will be to ensure a smooth transition from the old hardware to the new AS400 Power10 Server, optimizing performance and supporting our growing business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze current AS400 system performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop, test, and implement RPG programs on the AS400 platform.
- Assist in the migration from the old AS400 hardware to the new AS400 Power10 Server.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of systems.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for AS400-related issues.
- Document processes and procedures for future reference and training.
Requirements:
- Proven experience working with AS-400, RPG, and JD Edwards.
- Strong understanding of AS400 hardware and software systems.
- Experience with system migrations and upgrades.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Effective communication skills in both English and Spanish
